We can use the topography of the piano to help identify and memorize simple major and minor chords Symmetrical Chords

Note that the first six rows of examples are built on the I, IV and V chords

Triads can be grouped from the 12 Major and 12 Minor Triads
Black (B) White (W)




There are two notes that can act as a mirror
to view note patterns.
They are an exact relflection of the key pattern.
The notes are D and Ab...
Also Mirror images of chords
create minors out of majors and vice versa
If C Major is reflected in an imaginary mirror in Ab You get Am
If G Major is reflected in an imaginary mirror in D you get Dm

If F Major is reflected in an imaginary mirror in D you get Em
